That's why we are thrilled to share that Fields Volvo Northfield has earned LEED Silver Certification according to the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the first Volvo North America dealership to earn the distinction. We consider this an incredible accomplishment considering that Fields Volvo Northfield is also the newest dealership to join the award-winning Fields Auto Group.
LEED Certification signifies environmental design and performance, and in working with a green Volvo dealership, our customers can be certain not only of our high-quality products, both new and pre-owned, but also of our dedication to providing exemplary service for both their driving needs and the community at large. In fact, our dealership:
· Generates more than 5 percent of electricity needs from solar panels and wind turbines each year
· Uses 35-percent less energy than an average building of comparable size
· Is both heated and cooled with the use of high-efficiency equipment as a means of saving energy
· Collects nearly 468,000 gallons of rainwater each year, which is later used to irrigate the facility and flush toilets and which decreases the amount of public water used by 81 percent
· Stores as many as 14,000 gallons of rainwater at any given time in storage tanks outside of the facility and in a tank under the dealership garden
· Utilizes low-flow plumbing fixtures to aid in water conservation
· Recycled 95 percent of the waste generated during facility construction
