The five-passenger 2017 Volvo XC60 is offered in three main trim levels: Dynamic, Inscription and R-Design, which can be further differentiated by two engine choices: T5 and T6. The 2017 Volvo XC60 T5 gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque that comes paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is optional. When it is properly equipped, the T5 can tow up to 3,500 pounds. T6 and R-Design models get a supercharger in addition to the turbocharger that results in an increase to 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and towing capacity is 4,400 pounds. In industry testing T6 and R-Design models accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 6.4 and 6.2 seconds, respectively.
In testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety,
the 2017 Volvo XC60 earned top ratings in all of its crash tests on its way to
being named a Top Safety Pick+ honoree. It also earned a Superior rating for
its frontal crash prevention technologies and the top score of Good in its
Headlights tests. Available safety features include Volvo On Call emergency
telematics, the Volvo City Safety system, which is a low-speed frontal
collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking. Tech features
