The four-door 2017 Volvo XC60 seats up to five passengers and is available in three main trim levels: Dynamic, Inscription, and R-Design that can be further differentiated by two engine choices: T5 and T6. All T5 models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque that comes paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is available. Both the T6 and R-Design models get a supercharger on top of that turbocharged engine, which increases output to 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and has a towing capacity of up to 4,400 pounds!
In testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, it earned the top score of Good in all five of its crash tests as well as a Superior rating in crash avoidance and mitigation technology on its way to being named a 2017 Top Safety Pick+. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration awarded it a 5-Star Overall Rating as well as perfect 5-Star ratings in frontal and side crash tests. Safety tech may include the Volvo City Safety system that includes a low-speed frontal collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring system with rear-cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and more!
