The 2017 Volvo XC90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid features an innovative 2.0-liter supercharged and turbocharged four-cylinder engine that pairs to an 87-horsepower electric motor that combine to create a total output of 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. It comes paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. When both sources are in play, it will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. When plugged in to a 240-volt charging station, it will only take about 2.5 hours to recharge the battery pack, while charging from a standard 120-volt wall outlet will increase that time to about seven hours. The EPA estimates that it will have a pure electric range of 14 miles and 25 mpg when operating in standard hybrid mode.

It comes standard with a number of safety features, while drivers have the option of additional advanced safety features.
