Earlier this month, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) announced that it had named the 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Design its preferred Performance Utility vehicle. The TAWA award adds to the already overflowing awards case for the 2016 Volvo XC90, which has cleaned up awards from all corners of the country and globe. Each year, the TAWA hosts the Texas Auto Roundup, which is an annual media event held at the famous Texas Motor Speedway. More than fifty journalist members of the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) team up to evaluate the latest cars available on the market. Nic Phillips, TAWA president, had this to say about the 2016 Volvo XC90 R-Line:

2016 marks the second year in a row that the Volvo XC90
model was honored by the Texas Auto Writers Association. Last year, the 2016
Volvo XC90 being named the 2015 Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas as well as
the 2015 Luxury Crossover Utility Vehicle. Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO,
Volvo Car USA, had this to say about the honor, "The XC90 continues impress and rightly so. Volvo is honored to receive this
recognition, especially after winning several TAWA awards last year."
