Earlier this month, the Volvo brand announced that Polestar, the Volvo Cars performance brand, has launched a new generation of its performance package for the new Volvo S90 and Volvo V90. The new package will be known as Polestar Performance Optimisation and will upgrade the entire drivetrain while also improving driving dynamics. The 2016 Volvo S90 and 2016 Volvo V90 are the most recent vehicles to be launched on SPA, which is the Volvo Car brand’s new modular vehicle architecture that will underpin all new cars in the Volvo brand’s 90 and 60 series. The new performance package was already introduced in the award-winning 2016 Volvo XC90 last year. With the launch of the Polestar Performance Optimisation package, the same upgrades will now be available in the Volvo lineup’s top-of-the-line 90 range.
The Polestar Performance Optimisation package upgrades more than just by increasing engine performance, it upgrades the entire drivetrain. Not only does it improves throttle and off-throttle response as well as gearshift speed and precision, it also increases overall engines performance. These improvements make driving the Volvo S90 and Volvo V90 even more fun and more dynamic. Niels Moller, COO of Polestar, the Volvo Cars performance brand, had this to say about the upgrades:"We continue to enhance the performance of Volvo’s new, class-leading SPA vehicle architecture and Drive-E powertrains.
