Thanks to the long weekend we just enjoyed, you probably found a little bit of time to dive deeper into your spring cleaning goals. But as we head back into work tomorrow and life speeds back into its everyday busyness, you may find it difficult to keep the cleaning going. Here are 10 easy steps to help Illinois drivers keep their 2016 Volvo XC90 clean all year long.
1. Keep it clean and it is more likely to stay clean. You will likely find that you are unwilling to tarnish the pristine interior and will be more proactive in cleaning up any messes, which leads to our second point.
2. If your car becomes cluttered or dirty, clean it up quickly. A stain left on your seats or rug may prove to be impossible to remove over time. You may also start to look at those crumpled coffee cups as just another part of the car instead of what they truly are: cold hard trash.
3. Don't eat inside your vehicle. This tactic immediately eliminates the need to throw out cartons, wrappers, and crumbs that would otherwise accumulate in your vehicle.
4. Knock your shoes before entering. Especially in our ever-changing and often punishing Chicago climate, you have probably found that you are the one dragging in most of the dirt, grass or salt that you end up vacuuming weeks later. Give those shoes a good knock or two before tucking them into your Volvo car and you will greatly reduce the cleaning and scrubbing you may need to do later.
5. Keep a trash bag in your car. Having a designated area to store your trash will ensure that you are actually one step closer to throwing it in an actual garbage can, and it will also help you keep trash from rolling under the seats or to other unreachable areas.
6. Every time you exit the vehicle, take something out with you. This approach breaks down your cleaning skills and helps you guarantee that your vehicle is getting cleaner every day.
