At Fields Volvo Northfield, our staff is eager to watch the Volvo brand make a strong showing at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which gets going in less than a week! There, the automaker will share updates on the tech innovations that are both simplifying and enhancing the vehicle assessment and selection process for drivers in the market today.
Take, for example, the fact that Volvo Cars is the first auto brand to enable its consumers to utilize Google Cardboard as they research prospective vehicles. This tool will allow users to explore new vehicles through a virtual reality interface, and the first users will have the chance to try it out at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week beginning with virtual test drives of the 2015 Volvo XC90.
The Volvo Reality experience featuring Google Cardboard is themed after a weekend escape in a breathtaking natural landscape. The experience enables users to enjoy both the view of the landscape from the inside of their virtual vehicle as well as the car's interior itself. Set to a custom soundtrack, "Friday Getaway" is the first installment of an upcoming trilogy, taking drivers from an open field through mountains to a final stop beneath a starry sky.
Getting started is easy! All you have to do is download the Volvo Reality app and place your phone inside the Google Cardboard. From there, you will be placed behind the wheel of the 2015 Volvo XC90 to explore this vehicle's approach to the open road. Once this model arrives in our showroom, we invite you to visit our Northfield Volvo dealership for a true test drive!
