Volvo has always been a brand committed to safe driving. Today, your friends here at Fields Volvo Northfield are proud to bring you news on safety features that are expected to be seen in the new Volvo XC90 by the end of 2014. Read on below to learn all of the details.

Volvo Car Group ahs announced that by the end of 2014, the Volvo XC90 will be equipped with a number of new user-friendly safety and support technologies. Some of these technologies include Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with steer assist, and road edge and barrier detection with steer assist. The latter of these safety systems is a technology that is designed to help the driver stay in the lane and follow the flow of the traffic. It does so by automatically following the vehicle ahead.

The other features are just as advanced and intuitive, and we're sure you'll love them. Thomas Broberg, Senior Safety Advisor Volvo Car Group, spoke of the new safety features by saying:

"We are introducing the first Volvos with autonomous steering to avoid accidents and make driving more comfortable."

Broberg went on to say:

"When the first XC90 was introduced in 2002, it featured a number of groundbreaking safety features, including a world-first solution that helps prevent rollovers. By revealing a number of systems for the next generation XC90 we once again confirm our leadership in automotive safety."
