It's hard to believe that 2013 is already coming to an end. It has been a fun year for the Volvo brand, and we have our loyal customers to thank for that. As the year comes to an end, we would like to share some highlights with you what has been happening here at our Volvo dealer and beyond. Read on to learn more.

  • Safety: Volvo remains strongly committed to vehicle and driver safety. This is evidenced by stories such as the 2014 Volvo S80 sedan and the 2014 Volvo XC90 both being both awarded with the 2014 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ title. Additionally as part of the brand's overall commitment to safety, progress also continues to be made towards zero accidents in 2020 and the use of autonomous driving.
  • Volvo Owner's Day: back in September, another successful Volvo Owner's Day took place at the Volvo Headquarters in Rockleigh, NJ. This was a chance for Volvo enthusiasts to gather together to share in their mutual affection for Volvo, and the event was quite a success.
  • Irv Gordon: in one of the most exciting and unique stories of the year, one Volvo driver reached the three million mile mark in his Volvo. Irv Gordon bought his 1966 Volvo 1800 over forty years ago, and thanks to regular maintenance and his dedicated care, the pair have truly gone the distance.
  • Engines: Volvo Car Group began production on the first engine variants in a new, high-efficiency four-cylinder engine family. These new engines are smaller and more optimized to deliver higher performance than the current six-cylinder engines. At the same time, they offer lower fuel consumption than the current generation of four-cylinder units.
