Here at Volvo, safety has always been one of our top priorities and we're always excited to share safety news with our customers. Recently, the new Volvo S60 was tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the results were very exceptional! We hope you'll read on below to learn more about the new S60!
The IIHS is one of the leading sources for vehicle safety reports in the automotive industry. One of their latest tests is the small offset frontal crash test, which is designed to show what would happen if the front corner of a car colleges with another vehicle or stationary object.
The S60's results in this new test were very promising, as it was one of only two cars tested to earn the top ratings possible! All of us at Fields Volvo Northfield are thrilled!
Thomas Broberg, Senior Safety Advisor at Volvo Car Corporation, had this to say about the ratings:
"The relatively small overlap is a very severe crash situation and we are very pleased with the test result. Our aim is to build cars that help protect the occupants in most crash situations that occur in real-life traffic. This test confirms that our safety systems work as intended also when a small part of the front is involved in the collision."
