We all know how awful winters here in the Chicagoland area can be. We also know how miserable it can be to wait inside your freezing car as you wait for it to warm up. Well wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to sit in the car and wait? Your friends here at Fields Volvo Northfield think so, and that's why we're excited to tell you about a new feature coming to select new Volvo models soon - Engine Remote Start! Read on to learn more!

The Engine Remote Start (ERS) feature will allow users to start their Volvo from the conveniences of their home or office! All you need to do is press the button on the key fob, and your Volvo will be up and running, while also working to modulate the interior temperate for up to 15 minutes! How great does that sound?

The ERS feature will be available on the 2012-2013 Volvo XC60, 2012-2013 Volvo XC70, 2012-2013 Volvo S60 T6, 2013 Volvo S60 T5, and 2012-2013 Volvo S80.

If you're worried about safety, there's no need because Volvo has you covered! ERS will offer features that protect against accidental vehicle engagement. In fact, ERS will deactivate under the many conditions, such as if the "Lock" button is pressed while ERS is active, the car is unlocked or any car door is open, or the accelerator or brake pedal is depressed.

To learn more about this incredible new feature, or to test drive one of the above-mentioned models such as the Chicago Volvo S60, come in and see us at Fields Volvo Northfield! Our dedicated team of automotive specialists looks forward to working with you!
